Peace

Instead of speculating who may or may not be behind the horrific attacks in Mumbai that couldn't be condemned enough, and instead of giving in to the ridiculous finger-pointing being done by the media right now, I would just like to say a prayer for peace. Because if we don't, we will be doing exactly what these inhumane people want us to do. Peace is our birthright, and we must do everything to preserve it.

Our city, country, and religion are all going through trying times. Being blatantly labeled as `terrorists`, being squashed on either sides by mindless accusations, there's no telling what the future holds for us. Remember, there is strength in unity. And so we must unite, unite against this plague that threatens to engulf our entire region, and the world.

I, therefore, say a prayer that things improve back home - be it the ethnic killings in Karachi, or the situation in Mumbai that has threatened to derail the peace process. Amen.

Absolutely, Raza. Hussain Haqqani, Pakistani Ambassador to the US, came on record today to say, and very rightly so, that is the time and an opportunity, for Indians and Pakistanis to unite in this war.

I personally want to reinforce that even if there were Pakistani elements (i.e. unwelcome militant groups breeding here), Indians need to realise that our country too is a victim of their perpetrations. We too have mourned the loss of innumerable innocent lives. So let us stop pointing fingers and not let them (whoever they are) revel in the thought that they've achieved unrest.

Umm...I think it is important that I clarify this. When I wrote, "...our country too is a victim of their perpetrations", I meant the terrorists of course. It came out all wrong!

Awesome post. Says little, means a lot. And I love the picture. I say a little prayer for all of us. Ameen.

@YH
Thanks dude. What is, however, still distressing is how easily people are manipulated by the media, and how few can actually think rationally with an open mind about this (on either side of the border).

I dont know man... I think you are right. But we should also realise the greater motives behind all this. things are not as straight forward as they might sound.

May we keep holding tightly the string of the peace process... and save us from 'doing exactly what these inhumane people want us to do'.. (amin!)
